International Freight Forwarder of the Year 2022

DACHSER India won the highly acclaimed “ International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award”, in an eventful evening on day 2 of the event, Air Cargo 2022.

Organized by Messe Munchen and the Indian magazine STAT Trade Times,  the award ceremony was held in Mumbai and was conferred by senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the presence of some of the most eminent personalities from International Airport Authorities, Airlines, Industry Leaders and other stakeholders of the sector from different parts of the world.

Quality is the key

DACHSER India achieved this global recognition for its outstanding performance combined with operational excellence and a focus on quality.

The Award was conferred to acknowledge the company’s contribution to provide, one of the world’s most intelligent combination and integration of logistics network services as well as its proficiency in handling cargo and providing tailor made solutions to its valued customers even during the global pandemic.

On behalf of the company, Huned Gandhi, Managing Director DACHSER Indian Subcontinent along with the team accepted the award.

Fundamental measures to cope with the current Covid-19 situation

After numerous countries have imposed restrictions on public life and some have closed their borders (currently for passenger transport), we are confronted with a number of challenges as a result of the current corona situation. Due to accompanying restrictions to contain the spread of the virus, DACHSER is faced with delivery restrictions in regions or recipient groups (e.g.: catering and retail trade with the exception of essential goods). We are therefore dependent on the support of our customers.

We ask our customers only to hand over consignments for transport where it can be guaranteed that the goods will be accepted by the recipient. If we are unable to deliver consignments due to restrictions in the destination area or closure of a business, we will return consignments already accepted for a fee so that they can be returned to the sender's care as quickly as possible.  Further shipments to these areas or to final recipients will then no longer be accepted. This serves to avoid idle times and thus damage risks in the interest of all.

Of course we also offer individual possibilities of interim storage in contract logistics if required. For the reservation of storage capacities we ask our customers to contact us. We regret the inconvenience this may cause, but we consider it our duty to point out possible scenarios.

Due to general Congestion's on the Transshipment Points in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia and Poland we are facing huge delays. This is mainly caused by actual wagon shortage on 1520 tracks thru the CIS-Countries (Commonwealth of Independent States). 

Some major Operator announced an existing backlog of more than 2000 FEU on the border station in Poland. The overall transit time from Terminal to Terminal can extend to approx. 30 days

In addition to our air and sea freight service portfolio, DACHSER offers multimodal, reliable rail services with an extensive coverage, connecting economic centers of major importance in China and Europe.

Via the North Corridor, the so-called Trans-Siberian Route, we connect Hamburg, Warsaw, Vienna and Bratislava with Chinese main terminals cities like Changchun, Shenyang, Suzhou and Dongguan. 

To and from Duisburg, Hamburg, Neuss, Ludwigshafen, Vienna, Bratislava and Warsaw we serve the South Corridor, also known as New Silk Road to the Chinese hinterland areas of Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing and Zhengzhou.

Not only Block Trains but also Full Container Load (FCL) service is possible on this service and also Less-Than-Container-Load (LCL), it includes Consolidation Container Services (LCL-LCL) as well as Customer Consolidations (LCL-FCL).

Customer confidence strengthened: DACHSER is satisfied with the year´s results

DACHSER can look back on a successful 2020, which was characterized by the loyalty and climate of mutual trust between the logistics provider, its customers, and its transport partners. DACHSER’s consolidated net revenue totaled EUR 5.61 billion, a slight decrease of 0.9 percent compared to the previous year.

Typhoon Lekima causes service disruptions in East Asia

Super typhoon Lekima has brought major impact to the northern part of Taiwan and the eastern coast of China since August 9, local time.

Lekima made landfall near Shanghai in the early morning on August 10. Over the weekend, the storm brought heavy downpours, strong winds, flooding and landslides to coastal areas of seven provinces in China from Fujian to Jiangsu, including Shanghai city.

While some of the affected areas are still suffering from heavy rains and flooding, land transportation is disrupted. At the same time, seaport operations are disrupted and hundreds of flights are postponed or cancelled. Please expect shipment delays due to the adverse weather conditions.
